Devito's Shows Promise With A Third Place

We had a good run from Devito'sgoldengirl who was third this afternoon at Perth. In what could turn out to be one of the better novice hurdles so far this summer at Perth, she hurdled like a pro but was just caught for toe over the two miles. She will be better suited to further and will be back at Perth later on in August for her enthusiastic owners, the Tay Valley Chasers. She is pictured on the far side refusing to be passed for third.

Morning Time tried hard but was another who lacked the finishing speed of his younger rivals. He will be better back at Hexham in a months time.

At Stratford, Ballycool ran a good race but, similar to Morning Time he lacks the younger legs these days, a return to Uttoxeter seems likely. While Bab El Mandeb was very green and while his hurdling was passable he was taken aback by the fast pace. He will improve with experience.
