Tuesday Vetting

Eugenio Cillan Garcia is a big part of the team here at Arlary, and not only does he vet on the yard, but he also travels to the sales with us and to pre purchase horses that we buy privately. He is also a racecourse vet and it is reassuring that he is often at the track when our horses run. His experience and professional skills are outstanding and he keeps our horses on the road and healthy, and his input at the sales is invaluable.

This morning he started pre season MOT's on a couple of our horses, including the handsome grey, Celtic Flame, pictured. As well as trotting up on the level, Eugenio watches the horses being lunged and records any observations. This acts as a valuable baseline for the coming season.

We vetted a four year old at Ascot sales today too, the point to point winner Ask The Tycoon will be coming to Arlary this week following our purchase this afternoon. He was recommended by both Tom Malone and Richard Wright, and having won last month he should be able to hold his own in novice hurdles in the autumn. He is by the young sire Ask who has produced some nice types and is out of a daughter of Afford who Scu rode to win, back in the day. He will be fully assessed when we get him home and will be for sale.
