We have had a super day with the Tay Valley Chasers Racing Club at South Kilduff.
Forty members joined us for prosecco and Edinburgh Rhubarb Gin or tea and coffee for the drivers, then a parade of a dozen horses including some special ones to follow this season. We then loaded everyone into the trailer and took them up to the schooling grounds to watch some jumping.
It was Will's idea to borrow the trailer from the Loch Leven Larder and it was inspired! Not only was it a fun journey, but it got everyone to the right place in quick time.
Maraweh and Prince Dundee had a trot round the fields then OrionInverness schooled alongside Ceegem over the fences and Devito'sgoldengirl jumped up the brush hurdles.
The Tay Valley Chasers have been going for ten years now and they have had plenty of success with a number of horses. Currently, Devito's has been running for them over hurdles and is an improver being second and third on her past two runs; a win is surely not far away. For the winter they have the winning chaser OrionInverness who looks an improved horse after the summer, and their stalwart Maraweh will be back for good ground staying hurdles in a couple of months.
Membership is a most reasonable £400 per annum and judging by the good time had today it is a most popular, social and well run club to be part of.
