Back On The Yard And Behindthelines

While Steve and El looked after Ballycool at Bangor, Scu and I stayed at home to watch the horses work.

Ballycool ran a super race until just struggling to quicken in the final few furlongs, but his fourth place is a credit to him and he will probably be back over slightly further at the end of the month.

It was a routine canter day and it was really good to see the improvement in some of our younger horses, and also in the new recruit Behindthelines, pictured. He has lots of scope, a nice way of gong and he covers the ground really well. He will be prepared for a novice hurdle this month and is for sale; please contact the yard for more details.

We have a second new recruit in The Banastoir, a good bodied Presenting eight year old who won a two and a hlaf mile hurdle at Perth a few years ago. He has since been placed point to pointing and hunter chasing but maybe does not truely stay three miles. Anthea Morshead has asked us to try him back under rules and judging by his enthusiasm and stride I am hopeful that he can run well for the yard.
