Schooling And Pre Wetherby

In between the frosts, we have been schooling some of the novices and we are really pleased with their progress. We are lucky to have Derek and the boys to school for us; their positivity, bravery, and confidence are infectious and the young horses all improved through their sessions. Jumping were Where's Tiger, Chanceiton, Jump For Dough, Hey Listen, The Road Home, Newtown Lad, Thepensionfund, Ask The Tycoon and Behindthelines who is pictured with Cameron.

We have had a new addition to the yard, the classy tall Milan three year old out of Founding Daughter, from the family of Ad Hoc. He was my pick out at the August Tattersalls Ireland sales and has not disappointed. He has been broken and ridden away in Ireland and is now back for preparation for a bumper. At a good 17hands he is still immature but covers the ground and has a straightforward kind attitude. See his pedigree HERE

Big River was checked today by Eugenio and his heart seems to be back in rhythm. He will have an ECG at Edinburgh in a few days to see the full function and to ascertain if he needs further treatment.

We have three heading to Wetherby tomorrow on soft ground starting with the novice hurdler The Road Home. He ran a super race at Cheltenham in a bumper in October and has thrived since. He has schooled well and we will know more about him tomorrow.

Thorpe is back after a small break after his summer schedule. He won twice and as a result is up in the handicap but seems fresh after his time off.

Finally, in the bumper, we run the mare Dancing Amy, she showed some ability last time and has had a few months off to strengthen. Longterm she will be a handy hurdler.
