Pre Saturday Runners

Two runners at Newcastle and two at Bangor this Saturday.

We have always really liked Well Above Par and in time he should be one if our good long distance chasers, but at just five years old we are going to look after him with the future in mind. Thus he has been given time to get over his last run and we think that two and a half miles is far enough for him at the moment . He takes on handicap chasers tomorrow and while he is inexperienced I think that this run will teach him plenty  and he should be competitive with a clear round.

Ask The Tycoon is straightforward and schooled really well last week in preparation for this hurdles debut. The trip is the minimum for him but we are looking forward to tomorrow's race.

At Bangor we have the dour staying chaser Newtown Lad, pictured, making his seasonal debut. The trip will be slightly short for him but the track and going will suit and we are looking for a solid seasonal reapperance.

Chasseur Des Tetes is another tall horse who like Well Above Par will make a stayer but while he is still immature he is staying over the minimum trip. He should be strong in the finish and could be a big each way price.
