Tattersalls Autumn HIT Sales Purchases

Scu, Paul McIvor and I spent last week at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sales in Newmarket.

With a dozen horses to look at each day we spent plenty of time on each horse assessing it fully and armed with the form, we then valued each one that we were keen to bid on.

We bought three: two three year olds and a five year old.

BLOORIEDOTCOM is by Holy Roman Emperor and at just three years old he was a winner over 1m2f on good to soft ground at Haydock. Despite being hampered by an unusually hot summer and resulting quick ground he was runner up twice after this including over 1m4f at Leicester. His previous trainer, Peter Chapple - Hyam believes that he would be best on soft ground and as the sale progressed it became clear that the 32,000 guineas for this 76 rated three year old was good value. He is for sale and, having had a good break he should be ideal for a spring and summer campaign.

ROYAL RESERVE, by Duke Of Marmalade, is an 89 rated five year old flat performer with the experience of four runs over hurdles and a rating of 113. Having won this summer over 1m4f this strong traveller who loves good ground should be a super addition to the London Scots For Doddie team to raise money and awareness of the Doddie Weir charities for MND.

GRIPPER is another three year old this time by Thewayyouare, and he was a winner over two miles at Chelmsford earlier this year. He was highly recommended by his trainer Ralph Beckett from whom we bought the five time winner Thorpe. Another fast ground lover he should be ideal for handicaps around Perth this summer and looks great value. We are likely to syndicate Gripper in to shares; contact the office for more details.

All three horses are safely home and had a jump in the school today; pictured are Gripper and Blooriedotcom looking very pleased with themselves having jumped for the first time. Both three year olds are for sale; please contact the office to come and see them.
