Speak Of The Devil Second At Newcastle

Speak Of The Devil is a dear horse but it is taking him time to fully get together and mature; today he took another step forward when second in the three mile handicap chase at Newcastle. Still a novice against handicappers he showed his greenness when blundering at the second fence, the open ditch, but I thought that Stephen gave him a perfect ride, allowing him to get back into a rhythm and then making sure that he figured out for himself the tests. His jumping improved and will do again for today's experience and I am looking forward to his next run.

Some of Speak Of The Devil's connections are pictured in the winners enclosure. Alan Lamb is behind the camera; he records the day and produces a film for all of the owners especially those who cannot make the day.

I am also looking forward to Petite Rhapsody's next run. A staying pedigree suggests that he will need a trip in the future, and held up he stayed on well up the home straight to be fourth. He has an excellent attitude for one so young and will be all the better for this run; good days ahead for him.
