We had a most satisfying win at Kelso with the wonderful grey Bialco. Ex French the eight year old loved the conditions and galloped away to win by three lengths. We were delighted that one of The Vikings, Morten Buskop had flown in from Denmark to support Bialco and we are planning some nice targets for the hurdler through the spring.
We had an excellent return to the track for Behindthelines who was third in the novice handicap chase, given a confident ride by Derek but just tying up on the run in when looking to be a challenger to the winner. It is an honour to train for the London Scots For Doddie, all supporters of the London Scots rugby team who donate all their horses prize money to Doddie Weir's My Name'5 Doddie fund to support the effort to find a cure for MND. Doddie was at Kelso today to see Behindthelines.
We have a couple of horses who look in the grip of the handicapper at the moment; Vengeur De Guye and Misfits, they were third and fourth respectively and probably need to come down in the handicap to win again. Our two novice hurdlers, Last King Of Wales and Flutter Down will have learned plenty today but both need more time to strengthen.
Just the one at Haydock tomorrow where Charmix has his second chase since over a year off. He will be fine on the soft ground but needs to build on his Aintree third to win tomorrow.
