Good To Be Back With A Winner At Perth: Fortune's Hiding

Fortune's Hiding was bought last autumn for a very reasonable price at Goffs for Ailsa the daughter of Fraser McClung to ride in point to points. Following a couple of runs, pointing closed down and we have been the beneficiaries to train him to run under rules. A bold jumper he loved today's fast ground and galloped up the run in to beat our other runner, the game Boys On Tour. It was heartbreaking for Foresight Racing as they had watched their pint sized chaser return to form, but he will be back fighting next time. And for Fraser, Belinda, Ailsa and Thomas it was an evening to remember; they have a genuine chaser on their hands to have some fun with.

We love training chasers and Vinos Choice was a fast finishing second in the two mile chase, having been shuffled back with a slow jump at the first. He has scope to go one better soon and is a lot more settled nowadays.

Prince Dundee was third on his seasonal debut and this rates as a virtuous run as it is at a track that would not be ideal for him. We are looking forward to hearing the Hexham fixture dates for his next runs.

Fyfin Patsy is a horse to note as she jumped really well on her chase debut, just overjumping and landing in a heap at the last in the back straight, unseating Stephen. She was a little sore after the race and we will give her time and some physio in our therapy room this week.

Also very unfortunate was Gripper who hit the front round the home bend and was galloping enthusiastically until knuckling over two from home. It was a bitter pill for Derek and his connections but Gripper has shown a better attitude recently and is getting closer to the win.

Book Of Invasions led in the two mile handicap hurdle, and though passed two out he rallied to gallop to the line. He will probably be chasing next time. Needs To Be Seen jumped with accuracy and was unlucky to knock himself in the closing stages; he can improve on this run.

Tarset Hinny is still rather erratic through her race and needs to learn to settle and race properly, but her hurdling was good and she can improve. Effet Special was a little more settled in front but seemed to not stay the two and a half miles; shorter for him next time.
