Congratulations to Gerry and The Pacemakers who's Elmono won at Cartmel on Sunday, always travelling well and jumping economically under Blair. He scampered away up the run in and absolutely deserves this win after a close run last time.
We were very pleased with Shanroe Street's run too; he led and was prominent until the turn into the home straight and will build on this effort next time. Signifiant pulled up after a few scruffy jumps; he lacks racing experience and at this higher level things happen quickly for him. However, he is safe and sound and will be back on the track soon.
As the lorries headed home, Scu drove South to Newmarket where he and Paul have been sifting through the horses at the Tattersalls flat horses in training sales. So far, by Tuesday night, they had six to bid on but they all failed our vetting; it is always tricky at these HIT sales but good to dodge bullets with some veterinary advice. There is a list of eight to see tomorrow so let's hope that if selected they vet clear.
I returned home as we have an important week with horses getting ready for Perth, and Hexham. The only highspot of today's soaking is that the grass is in great condition for galloping and jumping; we have been assessing a couple who could take up their entries and will school twenty over the next two days.
