Missile Strikes

We were thrilled with the win of Red Missile at Musselburgh on Monday evening, Michael and Lady Jane Kaplan’s gelding showing great battling qualities as he prevailed by a neck under an enterprising ride from Shane Gray. The team at home have done a tremendous job with him, particularly Steven, Vicky, and our farriers Greg and Dougie, and it is great to see their hard work rewarded. Red Missile now has a valuable race back over course and distance at the end of next month in his sights.

A couple of days earlier, Ballyare typically gave his all at Newcastle, finishing tenth but only beaten 3¾ lengths in a race that did not see him to best effect. We will now look to step him back up to 6f and he’ll be out again in the next couple of weeks.

We are back on the Flat at Musselburgh tomorrow with Book of Invasions making his handicap debut in the third race on the card. Although yet to get competitive in his three starts on the Flat thus far, this is his most realistic assignment and should give us a good indication of plans moving forward.
